Institutional Investor's Trading Technology 40 list showcases financial executives that are responsible for the high-tech machinery of modern financial markets. BATS Chief Operating Officer Chris Isaacson has been recognized for both years of the survey, coming in at #17 for 2013.

2008-2012 "Tech 50" list Honoree: Joe Ratterman, President & CEO

Institutional Investor's annual ranking identifies the Top 50 technology architects and entrepreneurs who have risen to the top of their profession and BATS CEO Joe Ratterman has been recognized in this category since 2008, landing at #19 in 2012. (Note: this award was previously entitled the "Tech 40" and "Online Finance 40.")

2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008 Financial News Trading & Technology Awards Honoree in the category of Best Stock Exchange or MTF

Since Chi-X Europe first received the honor of Best Stock Exchange or MTF in 2008, the award was split into separate categories for Best Stock Exchange and Best MTF. Chi-X Europe was subsequently honored as Best MTF in 2009 and 2010, before the return of the consolidated category in 2011. 2012 saw BATS Chi-X Europe retain this award, in its first year as a merged company.

2012 Financial News Trading & Technology Awards Honoree: BATS Chi-X Europe in the category of Best Equities Trading Platform

Competition in this new category was fierce, with technology being one of the key battlegrounds for exchanges. Having successfully completed the integration of the Chi-X Europe order books onto BATS technology, the company was duly named as the ‘Best Equities Trading Platform' of 2012.

2012 Financial News Trading & Technology Awards Honoree: BATS Chi-X Europe in the category of Best Clearing Service or Initiative for interoperable clearing

Following BATS Europe's recognition at the 2011 Trading & Technology Awards for its preferred interoperable clearing initiative, the now combined BATS Chi-X Europe was once again honored in the category of Best Clearing Service or Initiative, having become the first trading venue in Europe to offer full four-way clearing interoperability. The award was presented jointly to BATS Chi-X Europe, EMCF, EuroCCP, LCH.Clearnet and SIX x-clear.

2012, 2011, 2010, 2009 "FN 100 Most Influential" Honoree in Market Infrastructure: Mark Hemsley, CEO, BATS Europe

Every year, the Financial News FN100 Most Influential list identifies the key financial executives impacting European financial markets. BATS Chi-X Europe CEO Mark Hemsley has been ranked on the leaders in Market Infrastructure list for four consecutive years coming in at #4 in 2012 and 2011, and #6 in 2010 and 2009.

2012 "FN 40 under 40 Rising Stars of the European Trading & Technology industry"

Now in its second year, the FN 40 under 40 Rising Stars list is a selection of the brightest up-and-coming men and women in the industry. BATS Chi-X Europe received the honor of having two team members named on the list, with Alex Dalley, Co-Head of Sales, and Nathan Renyard, Post Trade Services Manager, both recognised for their contribution to the industry so far.

The ninth annual Financial News Awards for Excellence in Trading and Technology, Europe, reward the boldest and most innovative companies and initiatives, recognizing vision, courage and triumph over adversity.

2012, 2011, 2010 Financial News Trading & Technology Awards Honoree: CXE (formerly known as Chi-Delta) in the category of Best Equities Dark Pool

The CXE non-displayed order book has been named as the Best Equities Dark Pool for three consecutive years since the category was established in 2009, to recognise dark pools that have sufficient liquidity but minimal information leakage.

2008, 2007 Financial News Awards for Excellence in I.T. Honoree: Chi-X Europe in the Best Regulatory Driven Initiative category

Having launched seven months before the implementation of MiFID in 2007 and gathering momentum in a short period of time, Chi-X Europe was twice recognized in the category of Best Compliance of Regulatory Driven initiative.

With the introduction of MiFID in 2007, Funds Europe established this category to honor the venue deemed to have attracted enough liquidity and done enough to appeal to buy-side trading firms.

2009 FST awards: Chi-X Europe in the category of Best Trading Platform

The category for Best Trading Platform was open to submissions or nominations for incumbent exchanges, MTFs and trading platforms operated by banks or brokers. Factors taken into consideration by the judges included response times, capacity and how the firm's technology improved the trading process.
